POWER LANDSCAPES IS A INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT
WHERE ARTIST AND SOCIAL SCIENTISTS EXAMINE THE EFFECTS OF
CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES

Part 2 begin now:
12 May - October 2012
At Botkyrka konsthall

The project
Power Landscapes touch upon subjects such as urban forest gardens, participatory practices, city planning, light pollution, climate change, and design as a tool for social engagement.

Around the world, pressures from climate change, globalization and changing use of natural resources increasingly affect both the physical and socio-economic and political landscapes. The biennial NESS Conference (Nordic Environmental Social Science) invites researchers from a range of different disciplines within the social sciences and humanities to share ideas and experiences from research on these topics.
2011 NESS also sparked off an art project. The aim was threefold: To contribute to the conference by infiltrating it with art that explores the same topics as NESS, but with different means. Secondly, to use the content of the conference to enrich the art projects. And thirdly to initiate collaborations and to use the competence and knowledge of both artists and researchers. The work will now be presented to a wider audience at Botkyrka art hall 12 May 2012.
